AIIMS-Delhi pneumonia cases not linked to China respiratory infections

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare clarified that the cases of pneumonia at AIIMS Delhi are unrelated to the recent increase in respiratory infections among children in China. The seven cases, identified during an ongoing study at AIIMS Delhi, were found between April and September 2023 and pose no cause for concern. The Ministry also stated that there has been no detection of Mycoplasma pneumonia in the samples examined at AIIMS Delhi. The Health Ministry maintains regular communication with state health authorities and monitors the situation daily.
