J&K special status: SC to pronounce verdict on pleas challenging abrogation of Article 370 on December 11

The Supreme Court will on Monday deliver its judgment on a batch of pleas against the scrapping of Article 370 which granted special status to Jammu & Kashmir.The Centre had scrapped Article 370 on August 5, 2019 and bifurcated the state into two Union Territories of J&K and Ladakh.In September, a five-judge bench of the apex court had reserved its verdict on a batch of pleas challenging the abrogation of Article 370. The bench, headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, held a marathon 16-day hearing before reserving its verdict.
