Report: Record number of fossil fuel lobbyists granted access to COP28
A record number of fossil fuel lobbyists, more than all delegates from the ten most vulnerable countries, have been granted access to the UN climate summit, highlighting the dominance of industry presence. The Kick Big Polluters Out (KBPO) coalition, consisting of over 450 organizations worldwide, demanded an end to the influence of big polluters. The coalition's analysis revealed that 2,456 fossil fuel lobbyists are only outnumbered by the delegates brought by Brazil and the UAE, the host nation. The CO presidency emphasized the need to phase out fossil fuels to address the climate crisis.
