High court stops salaries of top Punjab babus for non-implementation of its order
Friday, 8 December 2023 The Punjab and Haryana high court has ordered to stop the salaries of principal secretaries of the departments of finance and education in Punjab due to non-implementation of court orders to provide service benefits to teachers in Punjab. The order was passed while hearing a contempt of court plea filed by Anil Kumar and others. The court had previously directed the Punjab government to fix the pay of the petitioners in terms of the prescribed rules and grant them the necessary benefits, but the authorities have not complied with the order.
