Lalduhoma takes oath as CM, gives Mizoram 1st woman cabinet mantri
Friday, 8 December 2023 Lalduhoma, former IPS officer and leader of Zoram People's Movement (ZPM), was sworn in as the CM of Mizoram. The ZPM government includes the state's first woman minister of cabinet rank, Lalrinpuii. Lalfamkima was appointed pro-tem speaker. The new CM announced 12 'priority programmes' for the next 100 days. Other key individuals present at the swearing-in were ex-CMs Zoramthanga and Lal Thanhawla. K Sapdanga will be the home minister. Lalrinpuii will handle the health, social welfare, tribal affairs, women and child development, and tourism departments. Mizoram's history also includes two other women ministers, Lalhlimpuii Hmar and Vanlalawmpuii Chawngthu.
