Won't take oath administered by Akbaruddin Owaisi, say BJP netas of Telangana
Friday, 8 December 2023 Goshamahal BJP MLA-elect T Raja Singh refuses to take oath as AIMIM MLA-elect Akbaruddin Owaisi is appointed pro-tem speaker by governor Tamilisai Soundararajan. Singh alleges that CM A Revanth Reddy appointed Akbaruddin out of fear of AIMIM. Singh will only take oath when a full-time speaker is appointed. In 2018, Singh also did not take oath administered by an AIMIM pro-tem speaker. Akbaruddin was appointed due to being elected for the sixth term. Other MLAs with six terms include Uttam Kumar Reddy, Tummala Nageswara, Danam Nagender, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, and Pocharam Srinivas Reddy.
All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader Akbaruddin Owaisi has taken the oath as the Protem Speaker of the Telangana Assembly. The oath was administered by Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan at Raj Bhavan in Hyderabad on Saturday.
