Sword of honour for farmer's son at IMA passing out parade

Gaurav Yadav from Alwar, Rajasthan, won the Sword of Honour and Gold Medal at the Indian Military Academy (IMA) passing out parade. He sought inspiration from his brother Vineet Kumar, an Army Naik. Yadav cracked the National Defence Academy exam on his last attempt and won the President's Gold Medal. He lied to his family about failing the IIT entrance test and joined a college in Delhi University before entering the NDA. Yadav will join the 1/11 unit of the Gorkha Rifles regiment.
