In Bihar, man kills daughter for ‘honour’, buries body

A 16-year-old schoolgirl, Babli Kumari, allegedly killed by her father for having an affair with a local boy. The girl's body was buried vertically in a deep pit, apparently to mislead the police. Police exhumed the body from the pit along the riverbank after being tipped off by villagers. Honour killings are common in the state. Incidents like this highlight the issue of honour killings and the violence faced by young girls in relationships.
