10 kids go missing in Telangana every day; 4,000 remain untraced

Telangana ranks eighth nationwide in missing children count according to NCRB data. In 2022, 654 children, including 391 girls, remain untraced out of a total of 3,443 missing children. The state records an average of 10 missing children reported each day. The recovery rate for children in 2022 is 87%. Telangana police have a dedicated missing persons monitoring cell to address the issue and transfer cases to Anti-Human Trafficking Units if needed. Despite challenges, Telangana police have shown swift intervention in locating missing children.
