Bhajan Lal reaps reward for silently toiling on sidelines

IndiaTimes Tuesday, 12 December 2023
First-time MLA Bhajan Lal Sharma, a silent, selfless and humble saffron worker, is set to become the Chief Minister of Rajasthan. Sharma's long history with the BJP, including being jailed during the Ram Janmabhoomi agitation, has impressed the central leadership. He has been the party general secretary of Rajasthan since 2014. In 2003, he briefly left the BJP and contested the Nadbai assembly seat as a member of Samajik Nyay Manch. However, he returned to the BJP and has now emerged as an unexpected candidate for the top position in the state.
