TMC MP Derek O'Brien suspended amidst Parliament chaos; holds slient protest
Trinamool Congress MP Derek O'Brien was suspended along with 13 other opposition MPs for disrupting the Winter Session proceedings. O'Brien's matter was referred to the Privileges Committee after he refused to leave the Rajya Sabha chamber. He held a silent protest in the Parliament complex and walked out with a placard. The Rajya Sabha witnessed disruptions over demands for a discussion on the security breach in Lok Sabha. The chair directed the Privileges Committee to investigate O'Brien's conduct.
