Mukhtar Ansari's 7th conviction since '22, jail for witness threats

The MP/MLA court in Varanasi on Friday awarded five-and-a-half years of imprisonment to jailed mafia don Mukhtar Ansari for threatening a witness in VHP treasurer Nand Kishore Rungta's kidnapping case. This is the seventh conviction of Ansari since September 2022. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on Ansari for threatening Mahavir Prasad Rungta, the brother of coal businessman and VHP treasurer Nand Kishore, who was kidnapped on January 22, 1997, from his Varanasi office.
