Court denies bail to sacked RPF constable accused of killing four persons on moving train

IndiaTimes Saturday, 16 December 2023
Dismissed RPF constable Chetansinh Chaudhary, accused of shooting dead his senior colleague and three passengers on a moving train in July, was denied bail by a court in Mumbai. Chaudhary, who is currently in jail in Maharashtra's Akola, filed a bail plea claiming he has been suffering from "haunted illusions of the ghostly world". The police opposed the bail, stating that he harboured "anger and grudge" towards a particular community and showed no remorse. Umesa Khatoon, the wife of one of the victims, also opposed the bail, calling Chaudhary a "terrorist minded person".
