Cop who shot woman in Aligarh thana held
Aligarh police on Saturday arrested sub-inspector Manoj Sharma, who had been on the run since he "accidentally" shot a woman "while cleaning his gun" at Kotwali police station in Uttar Pradesh's Aligarh on December 8, reports Mohammad Dilshad. Ishrat Nigar (55) was at the police station seeking passport verification for a pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia. She succumbed to her injuries on Wednesday night. Aligarh SSP Kalanidi Naithani said, "Sharma was captured in Aligarh city and will be produced before court. Further investigation into the case is on."
