Parliamentary panel raised question on infrastructure development & faculty recruitment in second generation IITs

IndiaTimes Monday, 18 December 2023
A Parliamentary panel report highlighted concerns regarding the allotment and transfer of land for new IITs. It noted that while land was allotted for four IITs, large portions were still pending possession for four others. The report also mentioned that 150 acres of land allotted to IIT-Gandhinagar was in unsuitable condition. Additionally, delays were observed in the construction of buildings and infrastructure in several IITs. The panel raised concerns about the site selection committee and the lack of due diligence in the process.
