Lack of space at Metro Stations may allow for upto 50 percent tree restoration HC panel told

IndiaTimes Tuesday, 19 December 2023
The Bombay high court committee directed a panel to inspect Metro stations and submit a report on the issues seen on ground. MMRCL informed that there was no place left at station sites to restore 100% tree cover. Due to space constraints, MMRCL may only be able to restore about 50% of the trees. The committee also requested MMRCL to make their Tree GeoTag data accessible. Additionally, a subcommittee was directed to verify the status of transplanted trees. The court warned of sending the matter back if there is a breach of the undertaking.
