Goa's GSDP increased by 33 pc in last two decades: CM Sawant

IndiaTimes Tuesday, 19 December 2023
Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced that the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) of Goa has increased by 33% in the last 20 years. He also mentioned that the per capita income in the state has risen by 30% during the same period. This growth is attributed to the success of 'Operation Vijay', which liberated Goa from the 450-year-long Portuguese rule. Sawant highlighted the government's initiatives, including the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra and the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana. Additionally, the state government plans to establish an institute to train teachers for the implementation of the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
