Indian Navy evacuates injured sailor from hijacked ship

Indian destroyer INS Kochi has evacuated one of the 18 sailors on board the hijacked commercial vessel MV Ruen for urgent medical attention after he was injured in firing by the pirates, even as another warship INS Kolkata has now reached the Gulf of Aden. The injured sailor, a Bulgarian national who has a gunshot injury near his shoulder, was evacuated to INS Kochi off the coast of Somalia in the early hours of Monday after negotiations with the pirates on the hijacked Malta-flagged bulk carrier.
