Caste census will hit national unity, RSS tells BJP, Shiv Sena MLAs
RSS has disapproved of the stand taken by political parties, including BJP, on conducting a nationwide caste census. It spelled out its opposition during a meeting with Maharashtra's BJP and Shiv Sena MLAs who visited the Sangh's headquarters on Tuesday. RSS Vidarbha region chief Shridhar Gadge told TOI that a caste census may benefit some people politically as it would provide data on composition of population of a certain caste, but it is in fact detrimental to national unity.
