MHA: J&K terror incidents down 81% since 2018

Terrorist-initiated incidents in J&K fell by 81% from 228 in 2018, the year prior to abrogation of Article 370, to 43 in 2023 (until November 30), while encounters witnessed a 74% decline from 189 to 48 in the corresponding period, according to the home ministry. Replying in LS on Tuesday, MoS home affairs Nityanand Rai said civilian killings in the UT have declined from 55 in 2018 to 13 in 2023, while fatalities among security forces were down from 91 to 25.
