Daughter fights for serial killer, secures 2-day parole for him to attend launch of his book

IndiaTimes Thursday, 21 December 2023
The Kerala high court grants two-day escort parole to 'Ripper' Jayanandan, a serial killer, allowing him to attend the launch of his book. Jayanandan, convicted in five murder cases, has been in jail for 17 years and wrote the book despite only having a ninth-grade education. His daughter's efforts to secure his release are commended by the court. Despite prison authorities initially denying the parole application, the court intervenes and grants the parole, bypassing the prison rules.
