Azam, son, two others acquitted in extortion and murder bid case
Saturday, 23 December 2023 SP leader Azam Khan and his son Abdullah, currently serving jail sentences in another case, were acquitted by the MP/MLA court in Rampur in a criminal case filed by a neighbor in 2019. The case, filed by Md Ahmad, accused Azam, Abdullah, and two locals, Shareef Ahmad and Bilal Khan. The police had filed a chargesheet, and all accused were previously granted bail. The judgment, delivered on October 18, resulted in the acquittal of all four individuals. Azam and Abdullah were brought to court under heavy police security for the proceedings.
