Revenue not sole factor: Gujarat minister on liquor ban relaxation

Gujarat agriculture minister Raghavji Patel said on Saturday that the decision to relax prohibition laws in clusters other than the Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT) is the prerogative of the government, which takes into consideration several factors in the interest of business. “Revenue is not the sole consideration of the government. It takes into account the boost that trade and business will get from people coming from other states and countries and the best decisions in their favour are taken accordingly. I welcome the decision taken by the government,” he said.
