CM Siddaramaiah backtracks, says Karnataka hasn't revoked ban on hijab

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah faced backlash from the BJP and right-wing organizations after announcing the revocation of the hijab ban in schools and colleges. He later clarified that the demand was still under consideration. The ban was initially implemented during the BJP regime in 2022, with a government college in Udupi district enforcing the ban. Muslim organizations contested the ban in the high court, which upheld the order. The government issued a circular directing adherence to the prescribed uniform by managements.
