India reports 656 new Covid infections, one death in 24 hours; active caseload rises to 3.7k

India recorded a single-day spike of 656 new Covid infections, according to Union health ministry data published on Sunday. One death was reported from Kerala, which has witnessed the maximum number of new Covid cases (128) in the last 24 hours. The number of people who have recovered from the disease has risen to 4,44,71,545 with a countrywide recovery rate of 98.81%, according to the health ministry's website. Further, 220.67 crore doses of Covid vaccines have been administered so far.
