3 from Pune dist test positive for JN.1, Maha tally now at 10

Five patients from Thane, including a nine-year-old boy and a 21-year-old woman, tested positive for the JN.1 subvariant of Covid. These are the first JN.1 cases in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The Thane Municipal Corporation sent 20 samples for gene sequencing and all patients are stable, without travel history, and recovering at home. The state's daily tally of Covid cases has risen, with more tests conducted. Mumbai has the highest number of active Covid cases in the state.
