Former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee was epitome of good governance: Jai Ram Thakur
Monday, 25 December 2023 Former Himachal Pradesh chief minister Jai Ram Thakur praised former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee for his commitment to good governance. Thakur highlighted that the Modi government is following Vajpayee's path to ensure service, good governance, and welfare. Thakur participated in the 'Good Governance Day' programme in Shimla to celebrate Vajpayee's birth anniversary. He paid tribute to Vajpayee and distributed fruits to patients at Shimla's Dayal Upadhyay Hospital. Thakur emphasized the establishment of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs and the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes under Vajpayee's government.
During an election rally in Himachal Pradesh, Kangana Ranaut, now a BJP candidate, inadvertently mixed up Tejashwi Yadav with BJP MP Tejasvi Surya while criticising the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader for "eating fish". However, it was Yadav who had previously faced criticism for a video showing him consuming fish during Navratri. The rally, held in Mandi, highlighted Ranaut's political foray in the Lok Sabha seat. In her address, she not only attacked Yadav but also accused Surya of "hooliganism" and referenced his alleged fish-eating habits.
