Airfares up 50% to & from metro cities this year-end

Travel planning and booking websites have reported an 8% increase in booking requests this year-end than what it was this time last year. Air fares between major cities in India such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune have jumped by 50%. Bengaluru to Mumbai tickets are about Rs 9,000 this holiday season. The top domestic destinations for people traveling from Bangalore are New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Pune, and Lucknow. Popular international destinations include Bangkok, Dubai, Singapore, Colombo, and Male.
