Maharashtra to give madrassas 10 lakhs per year for revamp
The Mahayuti government led by CM Eknath Shinde has decided to increase the funding for madrassas under the Zakir Hussain Madrasa Modernization Scheme. The amount has been raised from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 10 lakh per madrassa annually. The scheme is part of the PM's 15-point program and gives priority to madrassas that introduce science and maths as mandatory subjects. SP MLA Rais Shaikh expressed concerns about the stringent norms & implementation of scheme.
