Delhi weather: Shivers on, but December may end without cold wave

December in New Delhi has not witnessed a single cold wave day or cold day so far. However, parts of the city may experience a cold day in the next few days. The India Meteorological Department defines a cold wave as when the minimum temperature is four or more degrees below normal or below 4 degrees Celsius. A cold day is when the minimum temperature is below 10 degrees Celsius and the difference of maximum temperature from the normal is 4.5 degrees or more. Some areas in Delhi may soon see a cold day as the maximum temperature dipped in certain areas on Wednesday.
