Actor & DMDK chief ‘Captain’ Vijayakant passes away at 71

Kollywood star Vijayakant, who rose to fame in films and politics, died at 71. He was survived by his wife and sons. He had been in and out of hospitals in recent years, including a trip to the US for medical treatment. Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin paid his last respects and announced that Vijayakant would be laid to rest with full state honors at the DMDK headquarters in Koyambedu. Thousands of people joined the procession to honor the departed leader.
