Gaston Glock, inventor of namesake gun that is almost everywhere, dies
Friday, 29 December 2023 Gaston Glock, the Austrian engineer who invented the Glock handgun, died at the age of 94. The Glock is widely used by national security forces, law enforcement officials, criminals, and gun enthusiasts around the world. Glock sales reached over $500 million in 2017, with a 65% market share in the US. Before creating the gun, Glock managed a car-radiator factory and had not handled a gun since his teenage years in Hitler's Wehrmacht. The Glock became a phenomenal seller, especially in the US, and is considered one of the giants in handgun history.
After several rounds of exploratory talks, Chancellor Karl Nehammer announced the preliminary decision to form a coalition between three parties - ÖVP, SPÖ and NEOS.

During his UNGA speech, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan compared Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Adolf Hitler, urging global action to stop him. Erdoğan condemned the United Nations' inaction and criticized U.S. policy for supplying arms to Israel. He claimed over 41,000 Palestinians have been killed since last year's invasion and called for the recognition of Palestine. Erdoğan also warned of Israel’s role in escalating regional tensions with Hezbollah.
