The rise of Mumbai-style extortions in Delhi

Recently, over 40 rounds were fired at a builder's office in Dwarka by henchmen of a Portugal-based gangster due to non-payment of protection money. This incident adds to the long list of extortion cases reported in Delhi this year. Gangsters like Lawrence Bishnoi, Kala Jathedi, Goldy Brar, Kapil Sangwan, Himanshu Bhau, and Arshdeep Dalla have been extorting money and threatening city businessmen throughout the year. The gangsters use WhatsApp messages, calls, and recorded threat messages to demand 'protection money.' Shooters are sent in to scare targets who refuse to pay. Shooters are recruited through social media and are based outside of Delhi.
