Monday, 1 January 2024
The Ministry of Defence clarified that the tableaux of Delhi and West Bengal were not included in the Republic Day 2024 parade due to not aligning with this year's tableau themes. The defence ministry stated that the expert committee evaluated the proposals and Punjab's tableau did not align with the broader themes. The ministry invited the states not selected for the parade to showcase their tableaux in Bharat Parv, but Punjab refused. The ministry emphasized that Punjab and Delhi's criticism was unfounded as they have signed an agreement to display their tableaux in the coming years.
