J-K court declares 23 terrorists based in Pakistan, PoK proclaimed offenders
Monday, 1 January 2024 A court in Jammu and Kashmir has declared 23 terrorists from Kishtwar district proclaimed offenders. The court has given them one month to appear before it in connection with registered cases, or their properties will be attached. With this order, the total number of proclaimed offenders in Kishtwar is now 36. The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Kishtwar credited the diligent efforts of the Kishtwar police for gathering crucial intelligence and presenting it before the court. The police have already identified properties of 12 of the terrorists.

The Bannu military cantonment in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, located over 330 km east of Islamabad, came under a severe attack early on Monday (July 15). The assault, reportedly led by several suicide bombers, resulted in a prolonged gunbattle with security forces. The militant group Jaish Fursan-e-Muhammad, a faction of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) led by Hafiz Gul Bahadur, claimed responsibility for the attack. According to Pakistani state media, the incident began when the assailants attempted to breach the cantonment’s security perimeter with an explosive-laden vehicle.

The Shehbaz Sharif-led government in Pakistan has decided to ban the jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, the country's Information Minister announced on Monday. The PTI is Pakistan's largest opposition party. Attaullah Tarar, the Pakistani Minister for Information and Broadcasting, announced in a press conference that the decision to ban the PTI was made due to alleged anti-state activities. The case will be referred to the Supreme Court, according to Pakistani media.
