Andhra Pradesh government has decided to extend the occupational health allowance to the drivers of sanitation vehicles, underground drainage works, malaria workers, and park workers. Each worker will receive a monthly allowance of Rs 6,000 in addition to their existing wage. This decision was made in response to requests from the workers' unions and is part of the government's efforts to address the health issues faced by these workers. The additional allowance has already been granted to sanitation workers since August 2019, doubling their monthly wages.
