Fuel stations turn away motorists as truckers' strike hits supplies in Himachal Pradesh
Fuel pumps in Himachal Pradesh are turning away motorists due to the truckers' strike, causing limited availability of petrol and diesel. The strike is in protest of stricter punishments in the new law on hit-and-run cases. Massive queues are seen outside the few fuel stations still in operation. Traffic congestion is reported near the Vikas Nagar area of Shimla. Private bus drivers have also joined the protest, keeping their vehicles off the roads. The situation could worsen if the strike continues.
