Railway official who gave PM selfie booths' cost info shunted
Tuesday, 2 January 2024 Seven months after taking charge, Central Railway's chief public relations officer (CPRO) Shivraj Manaspure was unexpectedly transferred on December 29, allegedly without being given a reason for it or being told where his new posting is. He had last month, in response to an RTI plea, disclosed the cost of 3D selfie booths featuring PM Modi at stations. Manaspure has been replaced by Swapnil D Nila.
Mumbai faced severe disruption due to heavy rainfall on Monday, with over 300 mm recorded in multiple areas between 1 am and 7 am. Widespread waterlogging affected train services and bus routes. The BMC declared a holiday for schools and colleges' first session. The IMD predicts continued heavy rainfall in Maharashtra for the next few days. Central Railway's suburban services were particularly impacted, with some trains stopped for an hour due to water on the tracks. Authorities are monitoring the situation closely.
