MP CM removes collector over 'aukaat' jibe at truck driver

IndiaTimes Wednesday, 3 January 2024
The collector of Madhya Pradesh's Shajapur district, Kishore Kumar Kanyal, was removed from his post by CM Mohan Yadav on Wednesday, following his "aukaat kya hai" snub at a truck driver during a meeting to resolve the truckers' protest. The CM warned that such language would not be tolerated and that he would "never forgive" such acts. "Officials, no matter how big, should always respect the poor and their feelings. Such language will not be tolerated, not in our government," Yadav said. Kanyal, replaced with 2014-batch IAS officer Riju Bafna, was sent to the state secretariat as a deputy secretary.
