HC asks Mahua Moitra to approach Directorate of Estates over cancellation of govt accommodation
The Delhi High Court has asked Mahua Moitra, an expelled Lok Sabha member and TMC leader, to seek permission from the Directorate of Estates to continue occupying the government allotted accommodation. The court allowed Moitra to withdraw her petition and stated that the law requires giving notice before eviction. Moitra had requested that the December 11 order of the Directorate of Estates be set aside or that she be allowed to retain the accommodation until the results of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections are announced. Moitra was expelled from the Lok Sabha on December 8, 2023, for alleged unethical conduct.
