IndiaTimes Thursday, 4 January 2024
The WHO will include traditional medicine terminologies in its International Classification of Diseases (ICD) list, releasing the classifications in Delhi next week. The ICD classification of traditional systems of medicine like Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy will have significant consequences for healthcare. It will improve understanding of Ayush, facilitate high-end research and documentation, and enhance credibility globally. Additionally, the ICD classification will benefit medical insurance coverage, insurance packages, insurance portability, and medical value travel for Ayush care in India.
