Amit Shah stresses on training all rungs of police under new criminal justice laws
Union home minister Amit Shah on Friday stressed on need to train all rungs of the police, from the station house officer (SHO) to the director general of police (DGP), in all aspects of the new criminal justice laws, while also ensuring a technology upgrade from the ‘thana’ level to the police headquarters, for the successful implementation of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita and the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA). This is the first DGP/IGP meet being held after the three criminal justice laws were enacted and notified. The date when they will come into force is set to be notified soon.
