05k undertrial jumps from running train, dies in Etawah

An undertrial, Sonu Kumar Das, died after jumping from the Swatantrata Senani Express in a bid to escape police custody. He was being taken from Delhi to Bihar when the incident occurred. Das, who was accused of murdering his wife, had recently escaped from the sub-divisional jail in Benipur, Darbhanga. He died after his head crashed into an OHE pole. The body has been sent for postmortem. The local police and Government Railway Police are investigating the matter.
