The editor of Manipur's language daily, Hueiyen Lanpao, Dhanabir Maibam, was arrested and charged with promoting enmity on grounds of religion and race. Maibam is also accused of criminal conspiracy and violating the Official Secrets Act. This arrest follows the arrest of another editor, Wangkhemcha Shyamjai, who was charged with publishing an incendiary report.
