The road transport secretary, Anurag Jain, received three challans for speed violation because he missed the speed limit sign, which was placed "almost" behind a tree. He highlighted the issue of poor placement of signs on Delhi roads, resulting in vehicle owners getting surprised with challans. Jain emphasized the importance of placing road signs at the right spot to ensure visibility for all drivers. A study conducted in 2017 revealed that over 70% of road signage in Delhi did not meet prescribed norms, contributing to traffic jams and accidents.
