Can court review governor's decision? High court to decide

IndiaTimes Friday, 5 January 2024
Can the judiciary review a decision of the governor, or does the Constitution bar judges from hearing such cases? This crucial question will be answered by the Telangana high court in two writ petitions filed by Kurra Satyanarayana and Dasoju Sravan Kumar. The two had been nominated as Legislative Council members under the governor's quota by the previous BRS government. However, governor Tamilisai Soundararajan had rejected their names, after which both moved the HC. They feared the new Congress government would fill the seats as the cases were being heard.
