Manipur editor held over Moreh report gets bail after 3-day custody

Editor Dhanabir Maibam of a Manipur language daily, arrested for publishing a report on attacks by armed groups on forces in Moreh, got bail after three days. The article titled "Manipur Police lack bullets in Moreh" led to charges of promoting enmity, criminal conspiracy, and offenses under the Official Secrets Act. Another editor, Wangkhemcha Shyamjai, was also arrested and released on bail. Women's groups protested the arrests, emphasizing the importance of free speech and editors' role in showing reality.
