Centre launches ‘Disability Information Line’ at ‘Purple Fest’ to bolster inclusion

India launches cloud-based toll-free 'Disability Information Line' for persons with disabilities. The line integrates multiple helplines under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities. It will soon introduce a five-digit number to consolidate information and services for persons with disabilities. The line provides information on 21 disabilities and various subjects related to disability prevention, management, education, vocational training, and job opportunities. The launch took place during the 'International Purple Fest' in Goa, focusing on disability inclusion and solutions for neurodiversity and invisible disabilities.
