Cops allowed attackers to gather: Enforcement Directorate

Enforcement Directorate on Monday blamed the Bengal police for its lackadaisical approach that led to an attack on its team and disruption of its search operations in North 24 Parganas district on December 5 against two accused in the public distribution system (PDS) scam and money laundering case. The probe agency said it has gathered information that 'proceeds of crime' of Rs 10,000 crore has been generated by stealing foodgrains meant for the poor, Rs 2,000 crore of which has been transferred to Dubai.
