After 13-yr manhunt, key accused in Kerala professor’s hand-chopping case in NIA custody

NIA arrests prime accused Savad, ending 13-year manhunt in 2010 palm-chopping case. Savad, a PFI sympathizer, was found in Kannur after hiding under a fake name for years. He chopped the hand of Prof T J Joseph, who allegedly ridiculed Prophet Mohammed in a question paper. He was remanded in judicial custody till January 24.
